Women’s flag football is rapidly gaining popularity in Moreno Valley, offering athletes new opportunities to engage in competitive sports. Both Moreno Valley College (MVC) and Moreno Valley High School (MVHS) have embraced this dynamic sport, fostering community spirit and athletic excellence.
Moreno Valley College’s Pioneering Team
In spring 2025, MVC launched its inaugural women’s flag football team, marking a significant milestone as the college’s first official sports team. The program provides a dynamic and competitive environment for student-athletes to grow both on and off the field. Beginners are welcome, emphasizing effort, coachability, and teamwork. The team trains year-round, with in-season conditioning courses available during the spring and off-season training in winter, summer, and fall. Interested students can contact Head Coach Pui Lok Choi or Athletics Advisor Tanya Brown for more information.
High School Engagement
MVHS has also embraced women’s flag football, with upcoming games scheduled against teams like Temecula Prep and Rancho Cucamonga High School. These matches provide students with opportunities to develop their skills and compete at a high level.
Community Impact
The rise of women’s flag football in Moreno Valley reflects a broader commitment to inclusivity and athletic development. These programs not only promote physical fitness but also foster leadership, teamwork, and community engagement among participants.
As the sport continues to grow, Moreno Valley stands as a beacon of progress, offering women athletes platforms to excel and inspire future generations.
